We are the Cumbrae Forum
As a charity we support, connect and care for the community of Cumbrae.
Our small island in the beautiful Firth of Clyde offers a unique and wonderful way of life, and it also poses some very real challenges to our residents, from transport and accessing services to simply making ends meet. We aim to support everyone in an inclusive, friendly community which has equal opportunities for all.
Cumbrae is diverse, friendly and outward-looking. As well as welcoming thousands of visitors from around the world to our small island every summer, we are proud to have many international connections among our 1,300 full-time residents.
Most recently a number of families from Ukraine have become part of our community.
ми вас усіх вітаємо (my vas usikh vitayemo): we welcome you all.
How we work
The work we do supports those on the island who are in need; it also connects islanders in order to reduce isolation and form strong, positive community bonds as well as to promote connections across generations.
-
We advocate for the island and offer advice.
-
We deliver programmes and projects.
-
We fund other organisations’ activities on the island.
